Four Spiritual Food Groups

There are four spiritual food groups like there is in the natural realm.

Spiritual milk is the word of God.

I Peter 2:2

Like Newborn babies, crave pure Spiritual milk, so that you may grow up.

We are to hunger for the Word like a baby hungers for milk so we can grow up in our walk with the Lord.  Just like milk gives us strong bones and teeth, the Word of God gives us a strong foundation to grow on.

Spiritual Meat is doing God’s will. "My meat," said Jesus "is to do the will of him who went me and to finish his work. John 4:34

The meat of God is to obey His Word and to do His will.

Spiritual bread is Jesus.

John 6:53

Jesus said to them," I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.  We are to spend time with Jesus in prayer so that He becomes our daily bread.

Spiritual Water is the Holy Spirit.

John 7:37

On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, "If anyone is thirsty let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him." By this He meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were l later to receive.  We need to be filled everyday with God's Spirit.

Fruit of the Spirit

Galatians 5:22

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control.

When we spend time in the Word, prayer and being filled with the Spirit and doing God's will then we will bear much fruit.
